It does seem to be a well polished distro, but you never can tell until you're using a working install for a while. I'm always reluctant to abandon Ubuntu because you really can't beat the community support behind it. But this does look really nice...
It's a clash of the titans, I love Debian and it's derivative but I also like Red Hat distros too. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Let's leave Slackware out of it though hey XD
Yes I also don't think Yum is quite as good as Apt, it's not bad but it doesn't quite seem to work as well for me. Maybe it's cos I've become so used to Apt I dunno.
@fab I cant even get that far... I start the install with all the normal questions like whats the keyboard, are you live in, then detect cd, thats where it stops. Now I did the commands through Ubuntu- because Fedora wont boot up.

a notable difference is software installation, yum vs apt/synaptic

@silversurfer Personally I've had better experiences with solving dependencies using apt than yum.

@Dan - don't worry, you won't find me on Slackware any time soon. :)

Yum needs more hands-on action if you want to solve dependencies, but once you know how to do that, it's no major problems.

OK, so Ubuntu can see your drive. How come you can run the install CD and then it won't read your drive???

@Techsyslonghorn: it seems that you have a damage CD. reboot and check the cd from the boot menu.

If I understand Charlie right, it happens with a lot of CDs....
